We provide comprehensive preparation for higher level (HL) and standard level (SL) International Baccalaureate (IB) French, German and Spanish examinations. In so doing, we provide for both ab initio and Language B tutees.
Our tutorials focus on developing the three core IB language skills – receptive skills (listening and reading), productive skills (speaking and writing) and interactive skills (exchanging information, opinions and ideas). Tutorials emphasise tailored presentation, targeted practice and personalised feedback, using a bank of proprietary materials (authentic and semi-authentic), questions and papers, as well as past and specimen papers, to enhance fluency and accuracy, heighten cultural awareness, develop vocabulary and grammatical control, build confidence and provide enjoyment and stimulation.
We provide an informal assessment for each tutee at the outset. This provides the focus and clarity we need to be able to target accurately where each tutee needs particular support.
Working through the prescribed themes (communication and media, global issues and social relationships) and the optional themes (cultural diversity, customs and traditions, health, leisure, and science and technology), our tutorials are also collaborative and fun, developing creatively our tutees’ core language skills, time management skills, and their ability to respond effectively to the variety of question types found in French, German and Spanish IB examinations.
